The client

Kinnarps AB flexibly produces small and large batches

Founded in 1942, Kinnarps AB is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of interior furnishings for offices, schools, and healthcare facilities.

With approximately 1,800 employees and four production sites in Sweden, the company combines Swedish craftsmanship with advanced technologies, offering ergonomic, sustainable, and high-quality solutions.

From Inspired For Tube No. 30 - September 2025

The target

Kinnarps manages a highly diversified product portfolio, ranging from customized small-quantity solutions to large-volume production.

The company may receive an order for two custom tables or 300 standard chairs and must be able to handle small and large batches with the same efficiency.

The solution

By equipping itself with an advanced technological infrastructure and Lasertube systems, automatic saws, and state-of-the-art tube benders, Kinnarps has developed an extremely efficient production process, capable of agilely handling batch changes and performing complex operations on tubes and sheets to effectively meet the most specific requirements.

Lasertube machines, capable of cutting different materials with precision and communicating with the tube benders to compensate for bending-induced deformations, together with reliability and rapid support, represent some of the reasons why Kinnarps AB chose to rely on BLM GROUP.

Thanks to these solutions, the company has made the ability to seamlessly switch from small-batch production to large-scale production its true strength.

E-TURN
E-TURN is an automatic right- and left-hand tube bender for tubes up to 63.5 mm in diameter. Its ability to bend in both directions in the same cycle, combined with high precision and quality of results, makes it a machine particularly appreciated for the production of design furniture.
LT7
The LT7 is the high-end Lasertube system designed to minimize the time for production changeover. It can perform 3D laser cutting on tubes from 12 mm to 152 mm in diameter, maintaining excellent performance across the entire working range. From the smallest to the largest diameter, all adjustments are automatic, and even open profiles such as “L”, “U”, and flat bars are considered part of the standard operations and handled fully automatically.
All-In-One
With All-In-One, no tests, scrap, or experienced operators are needed to obtain the laser-cut and bent tube. With this technology, the Lasertube machine automatically compensates for the cutting geometries’ position to compensate for tube deformations caused by the bending process.
LS7
The LS7 is a sheet metal laser cutting system that can be equipped with a fiber source up to 20 kW. The pallet change system takes only 9 seconds to remove the cut parts and load a new sheet, ensuring maximum operational continuity. Active Nozzle Changing performs automatic nozzle changes based on the material and thickness to be cut, while the cutting head automatically adjusts to the new thickness and ensures consistently clean and precise results.
TS72
The TS72 is a robust, reliable, and automatic saw that allows cutting tubes of different sections up to 102 mm in diameter and 4,500 mm in length. Tubes are automatically loaded via bundle loader and can be unloaded in different positions to facilitate sorting.
When we invest in a new production system, reliability and fast technical support are essential. For this reason, we rely on BLM GROUP.
