Mundo-Tech Inc. produces high-quality bent tubes for fighter aircraft.

Mundo-Tech Inc. is a manufacturing company based in Rogers, Arkansas, specializing in the production of mission-critical components for the aerospace and defense sectors.

Certified ISO 9001 and AS9100, and compliant with ITAR requirements, the company operates with about 50 employees in a facility of over 30,000 m², producing tens of thousands of components each year, including hydraulic and fuel lines, intended for major aviation programs.

Among its clients are some of the most important global players in the sectors: Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic.

The target

Given the high technological and quality standards required by its customers, Mundo-Tech Inc. faced the same shortage of skilled labor that many other manufacturers deal with every day.

Its goal, therefore, was to replace its hydraulic tube bending machines with next-generation tube benders, featuring consistent long-term precision and the ability to produce high-quality parts with minimal operator intervention.

With hydraulic machines, temperature fluctuations during the working day caused oil expansion, resulting in dimensional variations that the operator had to compensate for manually.

The solution

The shift from hydraulic technology to All-Electric represented a significant breakthrough. With electric technology, the problem of oil thermal expansion was eliminated at its root: precision remains constant throughout the entire shift, regardless of ambient temperature.

Additionally, with the integration of an optical measurement system, any operator can scan the bent part in less than a minute and automatically transmit the measured dimensions to the tube bender. The tube bending programming software VGPNext precisely identifies the necessary corrections, ensuring that the next part is perfect from the very first production run.

ELECT40
ELECT40 is an All-Electric tube bending machine designed for bending small to medium diameter tubes, with right- or left-hand bending direction freely configurable. Extremely easy to use thanks to the VGPNext programming software and the absence of manual adjustments, it offers flexibility and drastic scrap reduction, essential advantages for those working with small batches of high-value and expensive materials, such as in the aerospace sector.
