Franz Brinkmann GmbH (BRISTA) is an important family-run business enterprise that has been operating since 1928. It consists of three commercial departments that deal with metal processing, hot-dip galvanization and powder coating.

They employ approximately 220 workers.

The target

With only 2 kW on the previous sheet metal laser cutting machine, it was getting more and more difficult for the company to produce at competitive prices and to operate with the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of a constantly evolving market.

Additionally, the need to open new business opportunities for its products in new sectors also emerged.

The solution

The LS5 laser cutting machine’s integration with the sheet metal storage tower, has enabled Franz Brinkmann GmbH to take its production flexibility to a new level and has improved both quality and productivity thanks to the 12 kW fiber source and to the cooling water assisted cutting of Active Cool.

These features have empowered the company to gain access to new design possibilities for its products.

LS5 with the 12 kW fiber source has allowed the company to expand its work range and now it can laser process steel with thicknesses from 10 mm to 40 mm and all other metal material. Thanks to the magazine tower and the automatic nozzle change system, the company operates in a fully automatic mode, thus tripling productivity.
