Using a Lasertube system is easy and boosts production efficiency
BenCo Technology is a Pennsylvania-based subcontractor.
Not only do they manufacture to customer’s specifications, but they are also involved in
product development to suggest improvements.
It all started in 1998 when they purchased their first laser cutting system.
The objective was to reduce production costs of complex tubular parts that were previously done using a sheet metal system and rotating the tube sections by hand. The system was inaccurate and inefficient.
Once they saw it in operation, they were immediately persuaded that LT8.20 was the right solution for them.
Lasertube technology was decisive for company development. Two or three parts could be made from a single tube which simplified complex products and reduced costs. The use of cut-bend jobs saved 35% of time in the welding phase alone. Appreciated aspects include the robustness of the machine and efficiency of automatic, continuous part unloading with no need for manual operations. Furthermore, the machine can obtain good results on imperfect tubes by exploiting the Active Scan automatic compensation functions.
Using a laser is easy and boosts production efficiency. Furthermore, by eliminating tooling costs and considerably decreasing prototyping costs, they could offer lower prices to customers. This opened the way to jobs that were simply unthinkable before.
