Tuba Inc. is specialized in processing complex components for a variety of different industries since 1993—from industrial vehicles, public transportation and agricultural equipment to furniture and medical devices.

With a 38,000-sq.-ft. shop and a team of roughly 30 people, Tuba Inc. provides fully customized support to its customers in bringing their most ambitious projects to life.

The client

The target

Tuba Inc. takes on diverse projects in a broad range of market segments, meaning that every component coming in is unique.

Previously, Tuba Inc. carried out most of the work using traditional methods, such as radial or cold saws for straight tube cuts, which often produced excess debris. Because of this, operators had to clean the tube inside and out before sending it off for post-processing on a deburring, drill press or tube bending machines.

These operations often turned into bottlenecks in the production flow, causing inefficiencies and driving up cost – especially when producing complex parts requiring multiple processes.

The solution

The LT7 made it possible to produce finished parts from raw material using far fewer machines: essentially, just the laser tube cutting system and tube benders.

All of this has increased the shop’s productivity, agility and flexibility.

Moreover, the LT7 Lasertube system allows Tuba Inc. to focus on eliminating secondary processes when fabricating new products, increasing the speed of production to achieve shorter lead times. It also allows them to expand the range of offerings to their customers.

In addition to the LT7, Tuba Inc. also owns two BLM GROUP tube benders that work in tandem with the tube laser to achieve the correct part from the start, optimizing efficiency for new projects.

LT7
The LT7 tube laser is equipped with a 3D laser cutting head and can handle 23 kg/m in weight, and cuts anywhere from 12 mm to 152.4 mm in diameter. The machine can be loaded with round tubes, square tubes, rectangular profiles, open profiles or special sections. Its universal support templates automatically adjust according to each specific workpiece, making production changeovers seamless.
