The client
Founded in South Korea in 1982, Hangyang Engineering offers advanced engineering solutions for various sectors, including semiconductors, aerospace, HVAC, and the chemical industry.
One of its core activities is the construction of primary and secondary piping infrastructure for the semiconductor industry. This work involves replicating extremely complex infrastructure systems: each component is documented and measured manually before being replicated. A single calculation error or defect can compromise the entire infrastructure. Each pipe must be cut, shaped, and assembled to meet UHP (Ultra High Purity) standards.
Today, the company operates internationally with subsidiaries in the United States, Vietnam, and China.

The target
To meet the high UHP (Ultra High Purity)standards required for semiconductors, it is not possible to use coolants, lubricants, chemicals, or detergents when cutting tubes. In fact, to avoid compromising the infrastructure, the interior of the tube must remain free of any residue or scratches.
Due to UHP standards, conventional machinery that requires oils or coolants cannot be used. The only safe coolant is water.
The solution
The LT8.20, with its internal tube cleaning device, speeds up the production flow with a huge improvement: with the old process, cutting both ends and drilling five precision holes in a tube used to take about 30–40 minutes. It was a manual process that allowed only water to be used as a coolant during tube cutting. Now, with the Lasertube LT8.20, this process takes less than a minute.
By automating a previously manual process, Hanyang Engineering has reduced cutting time from 8 hours to 2 hours per day, without compromising quality. This time savings allows for better resource allocation, meeting tighter deadlines, and an increase in overall production capacity.
LT8.20
The LT8.20 is a flexible and highly configurable Lasertube machine capable of cutting tubes and profiles with diameters ranging from 12 mm to 240 mm. It is available with a drilling and tapping unit and an automatic warehouse.
