Bender Installation Technician

The position reports to:
Project Management Office Manager

Under direct supervision of the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager, the Bender Applications Technician executes bender project requirements, maintains bender department organization, and bender machine inventory. Participates and assists in the development and execution of a standardized bender training program and conducts preventative maintenance on Solution Center machinery when necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Works to learn minor technical issues.
  • Installs Machines at BLM GROUP USA and customer facilities.
  • Installs and removes machine components as required per the BLM GROUP USA sales order.
  • At times will assist installing and programming bender tooling required to perform the customer applications. This includes bending tubes to fit gages or meet prints specific to customer applications.
  • Conducts customer training on the proper use and function of the BLM GROUP CNC Tube Bender.
  • Works to learn the internal procedures of BLM GROUP USA to assist in performing the required job functions to successfully complete a BLM GROUP USA tube bender project.
  • Works to help maintain the Non-Conformance system used to track bender project performance.
  • Works to learn and improve the quality system at BLM GROUP USA.
  • Maintains a positive rapport and business relationship with internal and external customers by providing outstanding customer service.

  • Travel to Italy 1-2 times per year to have continual training in software and hardware of BLM GROUP products. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Basic requirements:

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in a Technical field. Prior experience or equivalent military training may be substituted for a degree.
  • Previous experience with tube benders, CNC, or similar machines preferred. 

Licensing/Certifications

Valid Driver’s License with no more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period

Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of bending tool designs and how they apply to specific machine and part applications.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of statistical evaluations.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of robotic cell integration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Able to effectively use the internet.
  • Highly organized.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Able to effectively work with all levels of team members and all types of customer personalities.
  • Fluent in Italian (preferred).

The incumbent works primarily in a manufacturing facility where the noise level may be moderate to loud. May occasionally work in an office environment.

The position requires up to 60% travel. Travel may be both domestic and international as required by management.
