Project Manager, Bender

The position reports to:
Project Management Office Manager

Under the direction of the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager, the Project Manager, Bender plans, tracks, schedules, and communicates Bender Application open issues both internally and with customers to ensure bender projects are finished on time and either at or below budget.

Activities:

Essential Functions

  • Manages project and departmental budgets.
  • Schedules departmental projects. 
  • Analyze customer drawings to determine the feasibility of bending the part within the parameters of BLM GROUP’s machine product offerings.
  • Evaluates and conducts time studies to determine the most cost-effective solution for the customer.  
  • Selects and recommends the best fit bending machine solution for the customer. 
  • Coordinates the layout of the customer’s warehouse to facilitate the installation of the product.  
  • Assigns Application Department work assignments.
  • Communicates the status of projects to the involved BLM GROUP departments and with the customer; prepares customer correspondence.  
  • Maintains a positive rapport and business relationship with customers by providing outstanding customer service. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Basic requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field and/or Business Administration.  10 years of experience or equivalent military training may be substituted for a degree.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of bending experience across multiple applications is desirable.  Experience in a manufacturing or machine tool organization required.  

Licensing/Certifications

Valid Driver’s License with no more than two (2) points on a driving record within a three (3) year period

Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of bending tool designs and how they apply to specific machine and part applications.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of statistical evaluations.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of robotic cell integration. 
  • Proficient with AutoCad.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).
  • Able to effectively use the Internet.
  • Leadership ability; able to schedule and delegate work for assigned personnel.
  • Highly organized.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Able to effectively work with all levels of team members and all types of customer personalities. 
  • Fluent in Italian preferred, but not necessary.

The incumbent works primarily in an office environment.  May occasionally work in a manufacturing facility where the noise level may be moderate to loud.  

The position requires approximately 10% travel.  Travel may be local or out of State as required.
