The technological solutions proposed by BLM GROUP at BIEMH 2022

Written by BLM Blog | May 30, 2022 - 4.35 PM

BLM GROUP will be exhibiting at the 2022 edition of BIEMH, the international trade fair for machine tools and advanced manufacturing, celebrating its post-pandemic return to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre June 13-17. The BLM GROUP will be in Hall 5, Stand A-23 presenting the following systems. .

LT7, the high-end Lasertube system and the undisputed laser tube cutting benchmark

LT7 is the result of years of investments in technological research and the continuous development of innovative software and hardware solutions. The machine is equipped with a 3 kW IPG fibre laser cutting source, an automatic loading system for 6.5 m or 8.5 m tubes from bundles and an unloading system for tubes up to 4.5 m, 6.5 m or 8.5 m in length. The LT7 machine can process pieces from 12 to 152.4 mm in diameter and up to 23 kg/m in weight ensuring excellent process performance.

From the smallest to the largest diameter, all adjustments are automatic and also sections with “L”, “U” and other open profiles. Flat bars are standard jobs and are processed in fully automatic mode. The laser source allows great flexibility of thicknesses and materials, from 12 mm of mild steel to 4 mm of brass. 3D processing completes the framework of an extremely flexible system able to manage the widest array of applications.

Productivity, quality and accuracy, flexibility and automatisms, ease of use, for each of these aspects LT7 has advanced solutions that fear no comparisons.

LS5, the 12kW sheet metal laser cutting, is ideal for unmanned operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

LS5 is a high-end, fully automatic, flexible and productive sheet laser cutting system. It is equipped with an IPG fibre laser source of up to 12 kW and a Precitec Zoom 2.0 head. It is available in several configurations (3000 mm x 1500 mm, 4000 mm x 2000 mm and 6000 mm x 2000 mm) with an in-line or transverse pallet changing system.

The LS5 can be equipped with Active Tools, a compiled suite of cutting-edge technical solutions created from BLM GROUP's vast experience in laser cutting, ensuring the best results in less time regardless of the operator's experience: Active Piercing for increasing cutting performance on thicker materials, Fly Cut for reducing the processing time of grids and geometry sequences by up to 70%, and Active Nozzle Changing for automatically replacing the cutting nozzle and monitoring its wear status.

The entirely automatic tube module can be quickly installed, even after purchasing the sheet module, while automatic sheet loading and unloading systems and magazine towers can be added at any moment making this system extremely versatile and capable of adapting to the most diverse production needs.

The machine on show is an LS5 3015 (12 kW) with longitudinal pallet changer, equipped with the ACFS automatic sheet loading and unloading system for performing intensive, unmanned operations safely.

The first part is right with the All-Electric E-TURN tube bending machine

E-TURN was created to meet the market's growing need for multiform tubular components made of high-quality materials and in medium-small batches and is particularly suited for complex parts without straight sections between the bends.

Versatile and suitable for every need, E-TURN provides fixed or variable radius, right and left in process and multi-radius bending and can fit up to 8 bending tools stacks simultaneously, placing the variable radius at any level.

The high-quality standards of E-TURN are the result of the in-process material reaction control and the all-electric management of the working parameters. Furthermore, with B_Tools, E-TURN compensates for elongation and springback during bending, to obtain the first part right with each new production.

E-TURN is offered in different sizes for tubes up to 52 mm in diameter with the flexibility and speed to make it ideal for all end sectors including furniture, automotive, motorcycle, aeronautic and plant engineering.

A complete software suite for managing your process technologies

In parallel to laser cutting systems, BLM GROUP offers a suite of native software programs that makes the most of the power of the equipment to provide users with excellent work performance and robust process features for programming both on the machine and in the office.

Artube is the BLM GROUP CAD/CAM software for programming Lasertube systems enabling operators to draw, manipulate and design single parts or complex tubular assemblies of any section. Artube is the most complete and dynamic CAD/CAM solution capable of adaptabling to the customer’s specific needs.

VGP3D is the three-dimensional graphic programming software for BLM GROUP tube bending machines and wire benders. Simple, user-friendly and powerful, the VGP3D is also available in an office version and allows the operator to create any shape or geometry with the tube with a few simple clicks.

Protube is the BLM GROUP production MES, a single interface for easy and transparent management of part programs for the main BLM GROUP machines. Protube can be used to prepare technologically precise work orders in the office, to efficiently plan production, send production orders to the connected plants and keep track of all operations. By applying artificial intelligence strategies and data interconnection with the customer’s ERP, Protube is the key enabler for the evolution of smart Industry 4.0 applications.
